Our student culture plays a crucial role in the experience at Westlands Lyceum. We’ve created a safe and accessible environment where students are encouraged to discuss ideas, collaborate on projects, share their work and receive feedback with pride. We give students the foundation to reach their potential and gain confidence, both academically and socially.
We run two teaching styles in the school: Montessori and G.N.C. We train our pre-schoolers to be sharp, bright, intelligent and responsive using the Montessori teaching method and then employ the Ghana National Curriculum (G.N.C.) to teach our students from the primary level all through to Junior High School, where they graduate successfully into Senior High School.
Alongside regular in-person teaching and learning, we use Edmodo, a learning management system, as part of our instructional methods.
We educate our students using a hybrid format: both in-person and online. Our teachers and students are trained to use Edmodo – our virtual learning platform – in teaching and learning. Our teachers upload additional learning material onto Edmodo for our students to use in their further studies after school hours. Edmodo also serves as a communication tool between students and their teachers at all times so the learning never stops.
