Westlands Lyceum was founded on strong Christian principles and beliefs and the school is run according to our Christian beliefs. We are tolerant of other beliefs and faiths and encourage our community to be accommodating as well. We do not require students to be Christian to attend our school however being a Christian school, it is understood that all members of the school community will respect and honour our Christian devotions, services, and holidays.
Westlands Lyceum is not affiliated with any particular Christian denomination. It is our goal to abide by what we believe to be the core beliefs of Christianity. We specify these beliefs in the Statement of Faith found below.
These are the Christian principles in which we believe and run Westlands Lyceum:
That God is the creator of the entire world and of humankind
That the Bible is true, is the inspired and authoritative Word of God and is the final authority for all Christian faith and living
That there is only one God, who is the Trinity: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit
That Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to Earth and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins and resurrected on the third day.
That Jesus Christ is the ONLY mediator between God and man
That all mankind is lost and sinful and can only be saved through personal belief in and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ, his life, death and resurrection.
That the Holy Spirit is real and dwells in individual Christians, helping them to live godly lives and that every believer should practice the holiness that God requires
That Jesus Christ will come again and take the saints with him up to heaven.
